Manchester United Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says he wants to bring back Edinson Cavani, Scott McTominay, and Donny van de Beek for this weekend’s Premier League game with Chelsea.

United, though, are also set to be ‘for a few weeks’ without Paul Pogba while he begins his recovery from a recent thigh injury.

In their 3-3 draw with Everton at the start of the month, the French midfielder last played for United and returned to training on the grass as part of solo sessions.

Initially, United had indicated that Pogba might be back in early March, but it seems that his lay-off may be longer than originally anticipated.

However, the triple return of Cavani, McTominay and Van de Beek for their journey to Stamford Bridge on Sunday, after the trio missed the last three games through injury, may improve Solskjaer’s side.

However, it wasn’t all positive news as the United boss announced Daniel James is a doubt following the injury he suffered on Thursday night in the goalless draw with Real Sociedad.

“(Dan James) Tomorrow, we’re going to have to check on him,” Solskjaer told BT Sport. “Scott, Donny, Edinson, we hope you’ll be able to make them ready for the weekend. Paul’s out for a couple of weeks still.”

With a 4-0 aggregate victory over Sociedad, United secured qualification for the last 16 of the Europa League. When the draw takes place at noon on Friday, they will learn their next adversaries.
